  • Across Time by Jeff Fuell

A time travel story that will stay with you forever… True love and friendship has no boundaries, even across time. Christopher and Susan are two teens who are best friends – one a talented guitarist with dreams of attending Julliard and the other a talented young writer who accidentally travel back to the year 1963. There they fall deeply in love and have to make a decision; do they stay with those they love and care about or return home while they still have a chance? But if only one of them returns, how will that change the timeline? Will their entire lives be changed for the better or for the worse? Will their dreams still come true? And will they meet up together later in time?

From the author: Books come about in different ways. For this book the first thing that came to mind was the ending – two teenagers go on a time travel adventure and only one of them returns to their own time and they meet up again, one of them now obviously decades older. That was it. A week later the rest of the idea popped into my head one day out of the blue and I had my story. I knew who these characters were, what their goals were, everything. One of my favorite movies is “Somewhere in Time,” which is another time travel story. I wanted to try and capture the magic and emotion of that movie in this book. Hopefully, I have succeeded.

In the future true love is something that can be created to a person’s specifications. Meet Denise Merritt – the perfect woman. She is beautiful, caring, emotional, sensitive, smart, friendly, and has the best personality a person could possibly have. She is also not real. Denise is an android (model) who was made for Steven Adams, who wants to spend the rest of his life with someone special. Once he finally meets her, he had hoped to live out the rest of his life with the only person in the world he truly loves, but he gets swept into an unwelcome adventure when he finds out that certain other models in the world have gone rogue and he must work with the creator’s daughter – the only other person in the world who knows what is happening – to stop a global takeover and the extermination of the human race. What happens is a race against time and, at the end, Steven must make a choice. Does he choose to put a halt to the subtle takeover that the models are implementing at the risk of also destroying the only woman he has ever loved, or is there another answer?

From the author: Most people, male and female have often wondered what it would be like to create their perfect mate for various reasons. This has been a fantasy for as long as there have been men and women walking the earth. I really wanted to answer that question and see what it might be like while striving to make the fantasy as believable as possible.

Nicole Chandler was seventeen the summer she fell in love with Jake Evans, the sexy, smart, rough-around-the-edges mechanic who knew more of the dark side of life than any kid ever should.

Nicole was a sunshine Jake had never known—feisty, brave, funny. Definitely sexy. And she believed in him as no one ever had and made him laugh as though life might turn out okay. When the summer ended, Niki held his heart.

    Then she broke it.

Secrets, misunderstanding—mistakes they both made—sent their lives on different paths, their story unfinished. But twenty-three years later, they still remember. Yet when they meet again, forgiving is one thing; forgetting is another.

Young love is fragile, but with histories and exes and families, grown-up love is messy. And while building trust is hard, rebuilding what was shattered may be impossible.
