Author Interview: Anita B Evans

About the author:
I remember reading my first romance novel about a pirate and beauty when I was working in a library. I started writing in high school, all because I enjoyed poetry. I won a couple of poetry contest when I was in school. Within the last 3 years I started to write and read romances again. As a native of Dallas, Texas, I love to use the Big D for the base of all my stories.
I am the proud mother of 3 adult children and have no pets since my iguana went to glory. When I am not writing; I enjoy long walks in the park to catch Pokemon, reading a good romance, dancing until my legs hurt with Just Dance, cooking, and enjoying my family.

What inspires you to write romantic fiction?
I get inspired by everything I encounter. Everyday people, places, and conversations. I am inspired by the art of love and an avid believer that God has created someone special for each of us.

Tell us about how you write.
I write at all times of the day. But my best thoughts come when I am listening to some good ole R & B. My mind is constantly on the story.

Do you listen to or talk to to your characters?
Yes, I talk and listen to them all the time

What advice would you give other romance writers?
Keeping writing. The way to truly enjoy your craft is by continuing to write. Write every day, even when you don’t feel like it. Write

How did you decide how to publish your books?
I opted to self-publish because I wanted to be in control of my books and when they were released. I also refused to pay someone to publish them for me with no guarantees of editing and design. I rely on reviews, advertising sites for book lovers, and word of mouth. I have found that the community is always helpful and willing to get the word out and about.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think there is more to come. With so many tools out there for self- publishers to use, the process just keeps getting better every day.
