Naomi Foxx is a budding author who has been pulled deep into the world of erotica. After writing short stories for fun and taking many creative writing classes, she decided to take her hobby seriously. Follow her as she begins her journey. When she’s not reading or writing erotica, she’s probably researching everything about sex, dancing or cooking.

Smut writing is the game! I may be fairly new to this league but I am ready to take on this wonderful genre. I must write about my smutty characters to keep them from bogging down my mind! I do hope you enjoy the depths of my depravity as we journey down this rabbit hole.

What inspires you to write romance books?
Romance is a favorite genre of mine. Even though I cater towards erotica more, if there is no relationship I’m not as satisfied at the end. Lately, I have been running into some cookie cutter characters and I thought it would be fun to try and put something different out there. Maybe I just having stumbled upon writers that are doing this, but I can at least have fun finding my own way.

Tell us about how you write:
My writing habits can be pretty sporadic. The first step I try to take is plan it out with an outline. Then, create characters. After that, they take me where they want to go. Sometimes, there are scenes that pop up full-blown and I have to figure out what was behind them and where to use them. Other times, I talk it out with myself before I do anything at all. Folks tell me that I’m all over the place and this paragraph proves it.

Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen to, talk with, and argue down my characters usually. They don’t want to do much of what I plan out for them to do, but they always win. No matter how hard I try, I am left with pages of things they refused to do which makes the pieces not fit in the story. Other times, I’m just staring at a blank page with that incessantly blinking cursor as they taunt me.

What advice would you give other writers?
Keep writing and become an avid reader of your genre if you aren’t already. There is no way you can hone your craft if you don’t practice which reading and writing are.

How did you decide how to publish your books?
I just started in this industry and I didn’t want to make it too hard. That way I wouldn’t get discouraged right at the beginning. Being in control of my own things is always a goal of mine, so self-publishing was always a factor. Since Amazon was already one of my favorite sites to get my eBooks, it was a no brainer when I saw how easy it was to submit a book. Then it was on from there.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think the future of publishing is going to be in eBooks. It is easy, cost-effective and environmentally sound in my book. I do like having paper books when I am researching (for some reason I retain it better), but I am not against going the online and eBook way.
