Author Interview: Violet Elizabeth Moon

About the author:
Violet Elizabeth Moon is an official member of Romance Writers of America. Ablaze is her second published romance, the first being Enigma. Both books are part of her debut series, Technicolor Love, which focuses on interracial second chance erotic romances. She intends for the series to have seven books in total.
Violet wishes to leave her readers feeling happy, confident, and unlimited. She strives to help her readers figure out what they want in relationships, and recognize what a healthy one looks like. She is passionate about advocating for the treatment of women's health issues and invisible illnesses and is intent on incorporating them in each of her books.

What inspires you to write romantic fiction?
I think love in all its forms is beautiful and deserves to be celebrated. I also think that romance novels have the potential to empower their readers through their depictions of healthy relationships, which I aim to do in my writing.

Tell us about how you write.
I get an idea, start an outline, write a scene, outline some more, rinse and repeat.

Do you listen to or talk to to your characters?
Sometimes, it depends on the story.

What advice would you give other romance writers?
Do whatever makes you happiest. Marketing is important but don't waste too much time on it if it starts stressing you out. Take a break.

How did you decide how to publish your books?
I watched some videos on self-publishing vs traditional publishing and decided I'd rather have more control and be able to release my books faster.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think there are lots of new opportunities, and look forward to seeing what they bring!

Which romance sub-genere(s) fit your stories best?
Interracial Romance/Multicultural Romance, Erotic Romance, Second Chance Romance

My books are available in the following formats:
eBook, Print
