About the author:
Rachel Ann Smith writes steamy historical romances with a twist. Her debut series, Agents of the Home Office, features female protagonists that defy convention.
When Rachel isn’t writing, she loves to read and spend time with her family. She is frequently found with her Kindle by the pool during the summer, on the side-lines of the soccer field in the spring and fall, or curled up on the couch during the winter months.
She currently lives in Colorado with her extremely understanding husband and their two very supportive children.
Tell us about how you write.
I'm a panster – 100%.
My characters are the ones who push the story forward. I have the most fun writing the initial draft, for I have no clue what is install.
Do you listen to or talk to to your characters?
My characters talk to me ALL the time. They do not listen to me and dictate the story entirely.
What advice would you give other romance writers?
If you have a story to tell, write it, there are never enough romance books in my opinion.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I'm still a newbie to the industry and I've just got my feet wet with the release of my novella. Given the length of Desires of Lady Elise, it was decided to publish it as an eBook. My full length, Secrets of Lady Lucy, Book 1 of the Agents of the Home Office Series will be published in both paperback and ebook formats.
Which romance sub-genere(s) fit your stories best?
My books are available in the following formats:
