Author Interview: Lynn Rhys

About the author:
Lynn Rhys is an up and coming author in the Romance genre. She is an avid reader and decided to take the leap into writing her own books. When Lynn isn't writing she is spending time with her kids and making sure to keep them busy.

What inspires you to write romantic fiction?
I love romantic fiction. It is my escape a lot of times into a different world. So when I decided to start writing, I wanted to write in the genre that I loved reading the most.

Tell us about how you write.
Majority of the book is the characters writing themselves. I have outlines that I create for the transitions, but for the most part, the characters tend to write themselves. I may have an idea for a story and it can start one way and end up completely different than I thought it would. There are nights I am up and get an idea and I am working out outlines or beginning of character descriptions and backstories. My mind is always pushing out ideas, it's constantly going. So if I am not actually writing a story, I am working on story lines and ideas.

Do you listen to or talk to to your characters?
I am constantly listening to them. They tell me their story. In fact the current book I am writing, I became so emotional I was crying while I was writing it. I never want to do a character wrong (unless they deserve what's coming to them). So I have to listen to them.

How did you decide how to publish your books?
I had the support of my husband and it has quickly grown to my entire family, as well as my friends. Though nothing can compare to the moment your mother starts reading your books. *facepalm* Even at my age, it's just a little weird. Still, my husband was the one who told me I should publish my work. My family and friends still encourage me to continue writing and putting it out there.
