Author Interview: Arnittress Dowdy

About the author:
I am a poet, writer, and author. My years of writing poetry shines through in my collection, Intimately Me, where I share my poems and thoughts in two books, Pieces Of Me and Simply Me.

When I am not writing poems or sharing my thoughts, you can find me working on my romance fiction novels. My first novel, Dreamtini was originally published in 2007 and re-released in 2018. I just released the follow-up to Dreamtini, Dreamtini II – The Reality. I am currently working on The Tales of Kayla and Kay-Kay which is a collection of short erotic stories. My homage to Zane’s Sex Chronicles.

At a young age I fell in love with poetry and soon after discovered that writing was how I best expressed myself. I have been creatively writing for over 30 years. When I am not writing, I can be found being a tomboy along side of my two sons.

What inspires you to write romantic fiction?
I write based off of my emotions. Whatever I'm feeling is what I write about. I also believe in happily ever afters and true love. I also take situations that I've experienced or seen and ask myself what would happen if things went this way instead of that way.

Tell us about how you write.
Writing is something that I enjoy doing so I just write. If I'm going through something, I write. An idea comes to mind, I write.

Do you listen to or talk to to your characters?
Yes, I have a full blown conversation with my characters.

What advice would you give other romance writers?
Keep writing, you have a love story to tell and there's someone out there waiting to read your love story.

How did you decide how to publish your books?
I tried getting my poetry published first and once I discovered that since I wasn't a well known poet, it was going to be hard for me to promote and market my poetry, I decided to go another route. The different outlets that I was looking into, someone I knew had experience with those outlets and the cons outweighed the pros. He ended up giving me another route and that route worked best for me.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
At this rate, I think that the future in publishing will work in the best interest for the indie author's out there.

My books are available in the following formats:
eBook, Print
