Samantha Powers is the pen name of a highly successful romance autohr, looking to expand in a different direction. Powers lives in Atlanta GA, enjoys some of the best cuisines and hot spots around town.
What inspires you to write romance books?
I’ve had a love affair with the genre for the last 20 years. The idea of making this world happier, with hotter sex drives me!
Tell us about how you write:
Usually late at night, like many writers. Pot of tea on the stove, music blasting in my ears, and I go with the Night Writers group on Facebook!
Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I dictate what they do, but they sort of tell the story from their point of view.
What advice would you give other writers?
Study the genre, read what you like and do it often!
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I don’t believe in wasting time as an “indie” author when the return on investment of time starts out in the negative. I went with a traditional, yet small and new, e-publisher based on a girlfriend’s recommendation and have been stoked to be with them since.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
It’s definitely changing, that’s for sure!
