She writes stories of dance, romance and military life including Don\u2019t Mean a Thing, Catching Onix, Wife, Mother, Woman, and Best Friends for Now.<\/p>\n<p>When she\u2019s not devouring books, reviewing and blogging on HeySaidRenee, or writing her own stories, Renee can be found swing dancing. Or possibly napping.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>What inspires you to write romantic fiction?<\/strong><br \/>I have an optimistic view on life so I enjoy writing stories with happy endings. Romance always had a happy ending so I find myself drawn to that genre.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Tell us about how you write.<\/strong><br \/>I write in regular short bursts. I can&#039;t sit down and write for hours on end so I focus on writing smaller amounts on a daily basis. I focus best on one project at a time.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>Do you listen to or talk to to your characters?<\/strong><br \/>I don&#039;t &quot;hear&quot; my characters.  When I&#039;m writing, I think about what I would do next in the current situation then compare the character to me and figure out what they would do next.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>What advice would you give other romance writers?<\/strong><br \/>The romance writing network is very supportive so I&#039;d suggest making friends with other romance writers. You can join RWA or find a similar network online. It&#039;s great to surround yourself with people who you understand you and can help build you up when you&#039;re feeling down.<\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p><strong>How did you decide how to publish your books?<\/strong><br \/>I chose a small publisher for my debut novel as they were able to do all the things I didn&#039;t know how to.
