\nT\u00e9 Russ has been a fan of romance novels since she snuck and read her first one, Scarlett Woman by Gwynne Forster, as a teenager. She’s loved writing even longer. When she’s not reading or writing, she’s taking care of her wonder husband and three kids in Texas.<\/p>\n
What inspires you to write romance books?<\/b>
\nEverything around me inspires me! Movies, music, my own life, books I read.<\/p>\n
Tell us about how you write:<\/b>
\nI keep a journal or take notes on my phone and whenever ideas come to me, I write them down. Once I figure out the direction I want to go I begin writing. Sometimes it flows well, other times I get stuck. When I get stuck, I take a break and brainstorm, let my thoughts stew until I’m inspired to write again.<\/p>\n
Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?<\/b>
\nI can’t really say that I’ve talked to them. I suppose I listen for certain emotions or feelings and interactions between other characters.<\/p>\n
What advice would you give other writers?<\/b>
\nThere’s romance everywhere, just keep your eyes open for it. Let it inspire you!<\/p>\n
How did you decide how to publish your books?<\/b>
\nI decided to self-publish because of the ease of it. I completed a book and I wanted to share it with people as soon as possible.<\/p>\n
I would tell new authors to do what the feel is best for them.<\/p>\n
What do you think about the future of book publishing?<\/b>
\nI think with so many doors opening, the possibilities are endless!<\/p>\n
