About the Author

Samantha resides in Warwickshire, England with her twin girls and occasionally her husband, who works abroad. She admits that his long absences often help get the creative juices flowing. She’s a romance addict and has been devouring all kinds of romance for as long as she can remember.

A huge history buff, Samantha likes to blend her love of the past with her love of romance and create thrilling and passionate tales set to medieval backdrops. She thinks there’s nothing sexier than a rugged warrior and a feisty maiden falling head over heels for each other.

What inspires you to write romance books?

I’m am unashamedly a happily ever after girl. I always have been. I love to pick up a book and know there will be a happy ending, but I also love all the trials and tribulations in between, and watching characters overcome those to be together.

Tell us about how you write:

By the seat of my pants! I’m a lousy planner – which is odd because I’m known for being a control freak – but I guess I just go wherever the wind takes me. I have three separate stories on the go as we speak. I just sit down and type for very long periods of time.

Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?

My characters love a good chat in my head but I don’t talk to them. They just get on with it without me and if I want any peace and quiet, I have to get it down onto ‘paper’.

What advice would you give other writers?

Be confident in yourself. The romance genre still comes under fire every now and then but if you like happy endings and everything that goes along with it, then write it. Don’t fear being seen as soppy or unrealistic because who wants reality?

How did you decide how to publish your books?

I started by self-publishing, mainly because it seemed the easiest thing at the time. I’m now doing a mix or trad and self. I like self-publishing and will continue to use it for certain books but I don’t want to rely completely on that platform. It’s also a lot more work-intensive and costly, but ultimately very worth it.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?

It concerns me, mostly because I’m a sucker for reading all these articles that give us conflicting stories about the future of publishing. It’s partly why I perused traditional publishing as I fear relying wholly on the self-publishing platforms. But I hope self-publishing continues. I’ve read a lot of books that I never would have found otherwise.

What genres do you write?

Historical Romance

What formats are your books in?

Both eBook and Print
