About the Author

I was born in Sydney, Australia, but now live in Southern California with my three daughters and three hairless Sphynx cats. I write in multiple genres; women’s fiction, historical fiction, science fiction and even horror, but have recently had my historical romantic suspense published, my first full-blown romance. I attend a weekly writers critique group which really helps me hone my skills.

What inspires you to write romance books?

I love romance, whether real or imagined. Romantic fiction is a wonderful way to get caught up and lost in romance.

Tell us about how you write:

I write when I can. I don’t have a specific schedule, unless there’s a deadline I have to meet. I don’t generally outline, although I will have the basic plot in my mind as I write. I will sometimes create a character sketch, but once again, that’s mostly in my mind. When I write, I ‘become’ each character and try to understand what they would say or how they would act.

Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?

I always listen to them. I don’t really talk to them because as I said above, I try to get into their mind and become them.

What advice would you give other writers?

Study the craft and get your passion flowing to create a wonderful romance.

How did you decide how to publish your books?

I’m always on the look-out for an agent, but they are hard to come by. So my next step is to seek publishers directly. I was lucky to find a relatively new e-publisher and she’s fantastic! Very approachable and tireless. That’s what you want in either an agent or publisher. Research is the key to getting published. Of course you need a great book too!

What do you think about the future of book publishing?

I don’t think it’s going away. Print publishing will likely continue to decline though. E-publishing is rising and so is self-publishing. It’s very interesting to watch how things are changing.

What genres do you write?

Romance, historical fiction, women’s fiction, science fiction, horror, thriller

What formats are your books in?

eBook, Both eBook and Print
