What inspires you to write romance books?<\/b>
\nI like to write romantic fiction which is blended with other genres such as suspense, fantasy, science fiction and mystery. It can easily be brought into different worlds as love is a universal theme.<\/p>\n
Tell us about how you write:<\/b>
\nI write very illegible sketchy notes if we are talking outlining. I keep most ideas in my head and plan each chapter partly by preparation and research and the rest improvisation. I like to channel while I write. I believe this will result in a more exciting story for the reader and for me while writing it.<\/p>\n
Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?<\/b>
\nI feel a connection to my female protagonist Caitlin Diggs. She’s been with me a long time in Blood Web, Extreme Liquidation and forthcoming novels Demon Inhibitions and 9 Incarnate. She’s brazen and sassy, not one to follow protocols if she can invent a better way to solve a problem. I think her character most definitely guides me in the stories.<\/p>\n
What advice would you give other writers?<\/b>
\nLike anything you want to do, be persistent. Feel your characters, let them channel you especially when writing dialogue.<\/p>\n
How did you decide how to publish your books?<\/b>
\nI have published through Internet publishers mainly. I always shoot for the stars with agents but getting to the traditional publisher level isn’t always possible. Today’s publishing choices gives authors options to get published in some format.<\/p>\n
What do you think about the future of book publishing?<\/b>
\nIt’s very topsy turvy. I think it will lean more and more to electronic books. Even the biggest publishers admittedly don’t know which direction it will go and therefore keep all formats available. I think you need to have options for your readers. Give them a choice of print or ebook. The next five years will certainly bring more changes. I am hopeful the independent or indie author will be taken as seriously as those published by traditional presses.<\/p>\n
