\nI am over the age of 35, am a military veteran and brat. I decided to give writing a try after years of exposing those around me with my vivid imagination and not doing anything about it.<\/p>\n
What inspires you to write romance books?<\/b>
\nRelationships and sex, the good and the bad. It is an opportunity to explore avenues not taken through the lives of my characters.<\/p>\n
Tell us about how you write:<\/b>
\nI am an outliner for the most part. For the short stories I just do basic outlines to cover the main parts. I do develop characters to some extent for my stories. The longer stories require more development than the pure Erotica. For my first book I used the alphabet. Main character names (first name) for each letter of the alphabet, job of counterpart and a kink. Then I sit back and brainstorm to see if I can tease out an overarching plot, character arc, subtext, subplots, etc. Once I figure that out I sit down and ask myself for each part, "Okay, what has to happen or be accomplished by the end of this." Then I just sit down and write.<\/p>\n
Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?<\/b>
\nI do listen to them, but not so much talking or my dog looks at me weird.<\/p>\n
What advice would you give other writers?<\/b>
\nI'm not sure I'm in a place where I can give advice. It would be like the blind leading the blind.<\/p>\n
How did you decide how to publish your books?<\/b>
\nI have so many ideas in my head that they keep me up at night. This leads to insomnia which then creates health issues for me. So I figured I'd exploit it to at least help me buy wine to cope.<\/p>\n
What do you think about the future of book publishing?<\/b>
\nI think it will swing back and forth between traditional and self-publishing. I don't feel any shame in self-publishing. I know it will take a lot more work, but I'm okay with that. It does make me work harder each time to put out a better product. I can't say the same for some traditionally published works. Some I have read are atrocious.<\/p>\n
