What inspires you to write romance books?<\/b>
\nI was fond of reading novels during my college days. Mny fmous authors made a deep impression on my mind. So, the seeds of the desire to write were sown in those days. I was an engineer by profession and so had little time to concentrte on writing novels. Now, after retirement from service (I am running 72 now) I found the time and opportunity to write.<\/p>\n
Tell us about how you write:<\/b>
\nI am not a professional writer. I have just written three books. So far, I had no need to follow or develop any system to write. I write down the rough ideas in my notebook – using the bearest minimum of words. To my wonder, once I begin to write, the words start to flow naturally.Of course, I write down points\/items that need to be checked up or researched on Google, etc.<\/p>\n
Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?<\/b>
\nNeither! On the contrary, I enter into their skins and make them tlalk!<\/p>\n
What advice would you give other writers?<\/b>
\nRead, read and read. Keep an open mind and be alert for new ideas. (They have a tendency to pop up in your mind at odd moments. Keep a small notebook with you always!) Do not provide incorrect information to your readers. Check and crosscheck before writing. Do not be sloppy with the use of your language.<\/p>\n
How did you decide how to publish your books?<\/b>
\nI was too eager, with my first book, to see it in print. So, I chose self-publishing. I had patience to probe various outlets, for my second (and third) books. I was successful in getting a traditional type of publisher.
\nIf you are young, have plenty of money and energy and time, you can go for self-publishing.<\/p>\n
What do you think about the future of book publishing?<\/b>
\nIt is bright, surely. There will always be people who want to read and those who can write. In spite of the digital revolution, the printed book will survive; no doubts bout that.<\/p>\n
