What inspires you to write romance books?

I love creating characters and telling stories. But more than anything, I love telling stories about how people fall in love.

Tell us about how you write:

I am a seat of the pants writer for sure. I don't like going into things with too many preconceived ideas. I want the story to unfold on its own without me pushing too hard. If words are not flowing easily, I step away to give my mind time to process things. I go outside and recharge in nature. I spend a great deal of time researching places, locations and backstory details so that everything is three dimensional and authentic.

Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?

I listen to them. My job is to tell a story based on what the characters would do in the situation I've placed them in. What my characters choose to do or not do is often not how I would personally handle a situation, but that's the fun for me.

What advice would you give other writers?

Write what is true for you. Don't worry so much about what everyone else is doing. Every trope and storyline has probably been done a million times. You can't get caught up in that. All you can do is create compelling characters that readers root for to make it work in the end.

How did you decide how to publish your books?

A lot of research, hard work and development of book proposals. I did not want to self-publish but wanted the backing of a reputable publisher.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?

There is no crystal ball of course but the universe is wide open with so many formats and ways for authors to get their work out there.

What genres do you write:: lesbian romance, poetry, lesbian fiction

What formats are your books in: Both eBook and Print
