About the Author<\/b>
\nI’m Croatian horror, SF and children’s\/fantasy author. I published more then 30 books – novels, short story collections, essays. I have few Croatian SF and horror awards, but best award is acceptance of my readers. I’m best known for my vampire novels.<\/p>\n
What inspires you to write romance books?<\/b>
\nI grew up on black and white vampire novels. I love the symbolism and idea of vampires. And when I was much younger there was not many vampire novels translated in Croatian. So i decided to write myself one. I liked it. Many people did.<\/p>\n
Tell us about how you write:<\/b>
\nI have one thing – every novel I write is like love affair, so I always have ‘our song’ – some song I’m obsessing about the whole time I’m writing that novel. When I wrote Beauty of The Beast that was Right Beside You by Sophie B Hawkins. Now I’m writing third part of my vampire serial and I’m obsessed with Miracles Out Of Nowhere by Kansas. I’m not choosing a song. Song is choosing me.<\/p>\n
Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?<\/b>
\nOf course. Sometimes I must struggle with them to have story my way. Other times I just can hear the whole chapters in my head before I write them down.<\/p>\n
What advice would you give other writers?<\/b>
\nTo write and learn from your own mistakes.<\/p>\n
How did you decide how to publish your books?<\/b>
\nThis book was first published in Croatia in 2000 and readers loved it. To publish it in English was just another step.<\/p>\n
What do you think about the future of book publishing?<\/b>
\nStories and story telling are old as human race. There will always be some kind of stories \/ books \/ ???<\/p>\n
