About the author:
Elektra King lives in the South Pacific with her husband, two daughters and three guinea pigs. She writes what she loves to read – alpha males, steamy love scenes and happy endings! Writing is a side gig but her dream would be to write full time. She encourages you to leave reviews as they help her hone her craft.
What inspired you to write your book?
These two characters were floating around in my head. Bits of their life and dialogue were appear out of nowhere so I decided to write about them.
Here is a short sample from the book:
I couldn’t tell her I was leaving town for good tonight. My heart bled at the thought of never seeing her again, never seeing her sweet smile that warmed me from the inside out, never holding her close to me again and never being able to taste her lips.
“Baby?” She broke me out of my brooding thoughts. “You ok?”
I looked at her in silence, my eyes memorising every detail of her beautiful face as we sat across from each other in the diner. I hated the fact that our last meal together was in such a cheap place. She was born into a wealthy family, had eaten in five-star restaurants since she’d started eating solids and here she was sitting in a roach infested dive cause her boyfriend was too dirt poor to take her out for a proper meal.
Yet she had never complained and that thought alone made me feel all the more shit.
Her hand reached up to my jaw, her delicate fingers cupping the side of my face while her thumb stroked my cheek, concern reflected in the depths of her beautiful green eyes. I smiled at her as I covered her hand with my own, holding it in place as I closed my eyes and leaned my head into her palm.
“You were a million miles away,” she said without realising the sting those words carried. I will be miles away tomorrow. And she would hate me.
