What inspired you to write your book?
When I thought about writing The Witch and the Christian, I know I wanted to write a heartfelt romance, and I wanted the reader to suspend their disbelief and really be absorbed into the material, so why not paranormal, just not the commonly done Vampire or Werewolf variety. And I wanted to speak out about getting through social or cultural barriers between people.
Here is a short sample from the book:
I stare down at his eluded eyelids, his nurturing nose, his limped lips. His lips? Moist. My lips? Dry. I open my mouth, sliding my tongue across it, top round to bottom, staring at his lips. My mouth gapes open, lips gaining weight. I feel them dropping off my face, needing to fall upon his as a raindrop needs fall to the ground.
Trembling, I lower my mouth to his, seeing myself kissing him yet scared as hell for what might happen right up to the very second my lips touch his. I press my mouth to him. Trembling, I feel his breath. His lips open, taking my lower lip, and close.
