What inspired you to write your book?
I wrote this book to entertain and encourage women.
Here is a short sample from the book:
Colette thought Calvin was the ticket. She helped him change his image to move up the corporate ladder at the car company.
Colette lived and breathed Calvin. After all, she considered it an investment in their future together.
But, as soon as Calvin secured his position at the car company, he forgot about her. He pushed her aside like yesterday’s news. He didn’t have the decency to warn her, the department they worked in was going to be dissolved and she would be out of a job.
Two years of wasted time and energy, she thought. Thank God she knew the comptroller in her own hometown, thought Colette as she adjusted her seat for landing in Norfolk, Virginia.
“Shawnay, wake up, doll baby. We’re about to land.”
“Good, I’ll kiss you goodbye and take the next flight back to Indiana,” said Shawnay as she fastened her seatbelt.
“Doll Baby, we are going to be fine. It’s a brand-new beginning…a fresh start. You don’t know what awaits you here.” said Colette as she checked her makeup and combed her hair as the airplane captain thanks everyone for flying. “Shawnay, get the bags from out of the overhead.” Shawnay exhaled a short breath of disgust and she unfastened her seat belt and reached for the bags.
“Why can’t I stay in Indiana with Daddy Calvin? All of my things are still in Indiana. You broke up with him, not me. Why can’t we stay in Indiana anyway? You couldn’t be that heartbroken. You two fought like cats and dogs for the last few months anyway,” said Shawnay as the two of them exited the plane.
