Since I was a child, I've been making up stories and creating characters. After years of working as a freelancer, I finally decided to put pen to paper and give this whole fiction thing a chance.
I love incorporating places I’ve lived into my writing. My family apparently has a wanderlust gene, and I’ve been fortunate to call Arizona, Florida, Colorado, Washington DC, Italy, San Diego, Los Angeles, and the Pacific Northwest home at various points in my life.
When I'm not busy at my computer, I love spending time with my husband, daughter, and insanely energetic dog who's always looking for trouble. Chocolate and reading keep me sane.

Watching her walk down the hall, I hoped she'd turn around one last time because that would mean something. Holding my breath, my heart pounding with anticipation, I waited as she moved closer to the guest bedroom door.
When she reached it, she slowly turned the knob, and I could tell she was focused on going in quietly, and I let out that breath, realizing that was it. She wasn't going to look at me.
But at the last second, she turned her face back toward me, giving me a soft smile, and I knew I would never be the same.
