About the author:
Leen Lefebre grew up in West Flanders where she works at the Local Heritage Service. As a kid, she threw herself upon each book that was available. Later, she turned around and settled on the worldwide web. She then emerged as a true explorer of literature, music, and sports. Leen is a dreamer and a doer – and this is how her stories rose up as charming and lively fairy tales for adventurers and romantics of all ages.
What inspired you to write your book?
A journey/trip to the Azores inspired me to write this love story between a princess and a shepherd.
Here is a short sample from the book:
Would he see her again or was she gone tomorrow, out on the raging water once again? Either way, this was the first time Serrano paid
more attention to another human being than to one of his animals.
Whatever the outcome of this encounter, he wasn’t going to ruin their
last moments together.
This farewell became a shared moment. Their minds stopped worrying, their lips wisely silent where words fell short. The child of the
mountains gained more courage than this child of the sea; he bravely
took a step forward. Fleeting but gentle as a breeze, Serrano’s mouth
touched hers.
The sweetest girl he’d ever seen, looked at him, stunned. She did
not seem angry at all. She even seemed happy that he’d taken the first
step. Her thoughts continued racing, for she really had to leave now.
With an aching heart, Soraia stated, “It’s time.” This time, she was the
brave one.
When halfway up the ascending path, she turned and waved, he
blurted out, “Come back soon, my love!”
“Wait for me!” she called back. “I shall return soon!”
“I will wait for you. Go now!”
