What inspired you to write your book?
This is my first foray into Romance writing. I’d like to continue this journey as a writer. I started writing Romance/Romantic fiction at an early age. My first stories were written to impress girlfriends in high school.
Here is a short sample from the book:
One conductor was smoking next to the train, waiting for passengers. “Almost left ya,” he said. I returned his friendly comment with a smile. I returned to my seat and sat calmly, breathing slowly. I looked out the window and toward the street light at the corner where the road to the train and the road to the diner met. I was waiting for the man to come running after me. Maybe he would turn it around on me and the authorities would send me back to New York. I would be living in a home in no time. My heart started to race, “Maybe I killed him? What if he’s dead? I could go to jail. Or worse, a home they send children to.” As I had this thought of living in an all-girls home with a mother superior lording over us, possibly raping us every night, the train started moving and left the station. For a couple years after the incident I was always looking over my shoulder. It was also a lesson I would never forget. It was a lesson in the ways of men, how they can act when they are desperate, lonely, and in total power. I also learned that night I was capable of much more than I ever realized about myself.
