What inspired you to write your book?
I typically write paranormal romance and urban fantasy. I wanted to start writing contemporary romance. A friend of mine was starting the Single on Valentine's Day anthology and I was ready to give it a go.
Here is a short sample from the book:
“Well, if it isn’t my favorite treacherous minx,” Trevor called out, hanging up his phone. “Have a good shut-in today?”
“The best,” I answered, biting into my sandwich and smirking at him. “How is my not favorite cutthroat businessman?”
He rose from his seat and stalked toward me, caging me against the kitchen island with his muscular arms. I swallowed the bite of turkey sandwich in my mouth, my heart beating a ferocious rhythm in my chest.
“Depends,” he growled. His voice was a low, throaty rasp as he leaned in. His warm lips brushed against my ear. I shivered against his hard body, my defenses cracking. His large hand cupped my waist in a firm grip.
“On what?” I whispered in a trembling voice. Damn him for having such an effect on me.
“On how fast you are.”
With lightning quick movements, he snatched my sandwich from my hand and took the biggest bite I’d ever seen anyone take. And then another bite, my delicious sandwich disappearing right before my eyes.
“Guess that answers that.” His laughter boomed out around us as I shoved him. “I’m great.”
“You don’t play fair.” I pouted, turning to make another sandwich.
“Oh, Sasha,” he sighed, leaning on the counter. “I think it’s you who doesn’t play fair. I’m just bending the rules, so I can keep up.”
