J.P. Reedman was born in Canada but has lived in England for over 25 years,. Interests include Stonehenge, medieval Queen and forgotten women, Robin Hood and the Wars of the Roses/Richard III. J.P. had written novels on all of these and became a full time writer last year. Hobbies include visiting churches, cathedrals, castles and prehistoric sites
What inspired you to write your book?
I have long been fascinated by the Wars of the Roses period. Edward IV was said to have bigamously married Elizabeth Woodville, thus making his children illegitimate. I wanted to write about the possible first bride, Eleanor Talbot, piecing together the scanty but present pieces of evidence. Some thing the story of the first marriage was 'invented' by Richard III, but Edward behaved in a similar manner with Elizabeth Woodville, in making a secret marriage. Remember, of course, that Edward was the grandfather of Henry VIII, and there were many similarities…
