About the author:
I grew up in a Christian home with a minister for a father, so you can imagine the mixed feelings that I have over writing an erotic romance. I lived a sheltered life till my teens when my love of the bad boys became apparent and of course got me into trouble. Currently I am divorced and live near Branson Missouri with my 2 cats (Max & Bobby Joe who is deaf). I have been a nurse for over half of my life. It is difficult to find time to write every day but I give it my best shot. I have always loved writing and write all kinds of things. I have had a few poems published over the years, and recently submitted my first children’s book for publication. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the publisher will like it.
What inspired you to write your book?
I’ve always liked the bad boys and was married to a biker several years ago. I have a vivid imagination and while this story is a fiction, many of the scenes were influenced by the experiences obtained during that time. I am currently working on the sequel to Red Skies At Dawn and my main characters, Sammie, Mitch, & Jake will return. There are a lot of unexpected twists and turns, as well as hot sex all of which are sure to keep the reader enthralled.
Here is a short sample from the book:
Her skin began to tingle when she noticed that the man was checking her out from head to toe. His eyes met hers, and she could feel her breath leave her body as she looked into the darkest eyes she had ever seen. A lazy smile spread across his face as he boldly walked right up to her.
He stretched an arm across in front of her and leaned against the wall, his voice deep and sexy. “Hey there, sweetheart.”
Sammie’s heart stopped as she tried to step aside. “Um, excuse me.”
“What’s the hurry, baby?” He moved forward, blocking her way and causing her to step back against the wall. He had an arm to either side of her and he leaned in close.
Sammie’s heart was racing like an Amtrak train. She was trapped. She could smell the alcohol on his breath and a hint of sandalwood. He was so close. She knew that she should cry out for help but for some reason she couldn’t. She looked up into his eyes and all that came out was a soft, “Please.”
His eyes darkened and he bent closer, claiming her lips at first softly then with more urgency. His arms slid down around her, pulling her close, and she felt like liquid fire. She didn’t want to respond but found herself lost in his kiss. Her lips moved against his and her hands moved up to his chest. Suddenly he pulled away and Sammie reached up, slapping him hard across his cheek, then ducked under his arm and ran into the bathroom. Looking back as she entered the bathroom, she saw him throw his head back, and she could hear his laugh echoing as the bathroom door closed.
Sammie slipped into a stall. How dare he! Just who did he think he was? She felt like she had run five miles. Her heart was racing, her breathing rapid, and she was hot. On fire, in fact. She put her hands against her cheeks to cool them.
