A very vivid dream I had with a past lover in it!
Here is a short sample from the book:
Little did I know how my life would change the day I set foot into the consulting firm of Adler, Brown and Simpson in Los Angeles. I have a one month assignment here. Whenever I get these temporary positions, on my first day at the new job I feel as if I’m being checked out and ogled at by the men. I usually keep it professional because for the last two years I have had a serious boyfriend, Christopher Graham. We met in college and Chris decided he wanted to go back east and pursue his MBA. He wanted me to go with him, but I wasn’t willing to move back east for him, which was telling in itself. We made a clean break when he left. I wanted him to be able to pursue his dreams and would never want to hold him back. I was now a single woman, on the market and on the hunt. Working at Adler, which is a big firm filled with young professional men around my age of twenty-five could be interesting.
Here I sit in an office with John Wright, a manager here, as he explains my assignment. He seems to be around thirty, a nice guy who is above average in the looks department. John said we would be having a meeting in the conference room down the hall. We are the first to arrive in the conference room and we both take a seat and wait for the others to arrive. First Julia Robbins comes in. She looks about my age and is very perky and friendly. We are chatting when in walks the most devastatingly gorgeous hunk of male hotness you could ever imagine. My jaw literally drops open and I have to remember to close my mouth and stop gawking. Wow, who is this?
“Marissa, this is Nick Armstrong. Nick this is Marissa Monroe, she has been hired on to help you with Parker Industries,” John says introducing us. Nick walks over to me and his eyes lock on mine as he extends his hand.
“It’s nice to meet you Marissa,” Nick says in the sexiest bedroom voice I have ever heard. My throat goes dry and my panties are melting.
I manage to shake his hand and stammer out, “It’s nice to meet you too.” He gives me a firm handshake and when we touch I swear I feel sparks fly off my skin. As if a bolt of electricity goes straight through my body. I can’t take my eyes off of him as he takes the seat across from me. I swallow hard, I know I’m in trouble. He has dark brown, wavy hair, olive skin and the most luscious looking lips begging to be kissed. I haven’t felt a spark like this since, well forever. The way he speaks and carries himself exudes confidence and a slight cockiness. While taking in his handsome features and his sexy smile, he is all confidence leading the meeting. His hands, I notice his strong hands as he talks and imagine them on me, gripping me. Oh my God Marissa, focus, what has gotten into you girl? He has got a body on him, a broad chest, trim waist and nice biceps from what I can visualize through his crisp white dress shirt that is snug in all of the right places. I’m mentally undressing him, I feel like such a guy. Looking down at the table for a moment, I try to focus on what he’s saying, as I look back up at his luscious lips moving.
“I’m sorry Marissa, did I lose you there for a minute?” Nick says with a sly smile. Yikes, he has caught me daydreaming about him naked!
“Uh, no I’m good, I follow you.” God, he must think I’m an idiot.
“Well, feel free to come and ask me any questions. My office is just down the hall.” And he wraps up the meeting and hands me the files.
After a few days of working with the Parker file, I have some questions that John can’t help me with.
“Go down and ask Nick if he can help you find the information you need.” I will gladly go and look for hunky Nick so I can feast my eyes on him. I stroll down the hall hunting for his office. I find him sitting behind his desk looking unbelievably sexy and powerful. Feeling a little self-conscious, I stop at the door of his large corner office as he looks up at me.
