About the author:
Michelle is an author, college professor, reader, and mom of five. Reading and writing have always been an integral part of her life.
What inspired you to write your book?
My hubby is a cop and comes home with the greatest stories. I had to write them down.
Here is a short sample from the book:
He placed the man in the back of his squad car, then grabbed his clipboard from the front seat and approached the blonde, who perked up at his arrival.
“Sorry to keep you waiting, ma’am—”
“Kaylin!” Her deep red smile widened.
“But my partner said you wanted to file a police report? There’s really not much to report.”
“No, that’s OK, but can I get your card? In case I have problems with him or have any questions?”
Ramon reached into his breast pocket and pulled out his officer business card. Kaylin snatched it with a greedy hand. Her peculiar behavior unnerved Ramon — and he was a cop who regularly chased armed criminals. What was it about this crazy lady?
“Take this. If you have any questions or need to report anything, you can call that number, or come down to the station. You know where that is?”
Kaylin flipped her sleek blonde hair in his direction. “I’m sure I can find it,” she purred again. “Can I buy you a coffee to thank you for your service today?”
Ramon physically jumped back from her, grateful that most of the crowd had dispersed after Jones left. That action was not one he wanted uploaded to the Internet.
“Ma’am, that is not necessary. I have to get back to my patrol.”
Once again, Ramon let the shadow of his poker face take over. He didn’t want this woman to know she shook him.
“Oh, OK then, Officer Garza. Thank you, and hopefully, I can see you again, around town.”
