About the author:
I'm an American living in London and regularly travelling to the other cities where I place my stories. When I'm not putting lovers in difficult situations I'm writing for the advertising industry.
What inspired you to write your book?
The tropes of romance and romantic erotica are great and they're popular for a reason, but I don't follow them – there are enough writers who do and enough books to explore the classical conventions, but I want to try something else.
I want to bring the style and unique plot pivots of mysteries and old-school comedies to romantic erotica. I want to try adding my own taste for strong characters and daring plots to this rich form, and see if I can make it richer.
Here is a short sample from the book:
“What do you think?” he said, taking the front of her dress in a steely fist. “You think I gotta take advantage of women who owe me money? Who are scared of me?” He held her immobile in the passenger seat.
“I didn’t mean it like that,” she said. “I wanted to do something for you, that’s all.”
“You’ll do something for me because and when I tell you to, you understand that?”
“I understand.”
“I want something, I take it, you got that?”
“Yes. I got it.”
And with that Cal pulled downward, tearing away the front of her dress. He put his other hand on the back of her head and drew her face to his. The night, the adventure, the danger, the dress and the man who’d just torn it off her became in that instant a single experience — a swelling sensation that burst the banks of tension. In her mind and body, in some intangible but very real way, the evening had been all about this moment.
