What inspired you to write your book?
LOVE, love, love clean but true to life romance. I was inspired to write something inspirational, yet not to Polly-Anna.
Here is a short sample from the book:
“I’ve never had a sweetheart. Can I call you sweetheart before I die and go to hell?”
“Stop being ridiculous!” She rubbed her forehead. “I think you landed on your head after that gunshot knocked you off your feet.”
“Humph,” He frowned. “I’m Elias Browne; I am twenty-six. I think. I grew up at Lennhurst Asylum Hospital…”
“That explains a lot.” Lauren took another look at his hair. Those long, fuzzy ropes are probably full of lice and… Her lips curled and nose wrinkled.
“I have a sister named Anna.”
“How does one grow up in a hospital?” She knew something was wrong with him.
“My mother was crazy,” he whispered.
Lauren shook her head, why was she even having this conversation? Another absurd moment in her absurd life, she needed to stop this and go for the sheriff herself. Searching around the damp basement, she needed to find something to tie him up with. Maybe his leg to the ice bed, or his wrist to dead man number two.
“I won’t call you sweetheart if you do me just one favor?” He still hadn’t moved an inch.
“Get you a blanket?” Sarcasm, though unusual from her, spewed from her mouth. This time she wouldn’t be tricked.
“Nope. Will you help me stay dead?”
