What inspired you to write your book?
Growing up, I was plagued by nightmares involving war and apocalyptic imagery. This book was born from the emotions these dreams evoked.
Here is a short sample from the book:
“I wanted more than anything to connect to someone. I wanted to feel alive again. I just felt dead inside. I could understand how some people just gave up. This darkness was overwhelming.”
“As our passions eased, I once again fell asleep. I slept soundly now and in a peace I never expected to find again, especially not so soon after facing the horrors we lived. My dreams were filled with possibilities and a future I’d wanted so desperately to have with Chris. Although some part of me knew that it was an impossible future, I allowed myself to be immersed fully in my dream. If I couldn’t have this future, I would at least have this moment.”
“Even in darkness, there’s light. You just need to look for it.”
“Grace allows forgiveness and faith allows hope.”
