What inspired you to write your book?

My love for family sagas.

Chapter 1

Jules kissed her breast as he plunged inside of her.
She really didn’t have time for this; she had a home to prepare for a party.
Since their marriage night, Jules’ carnal appetite became insatiable. Queensley always considered herself a sexual person, but her husband’s nature frightened her. Any other woman may have found it exciting and erotic to have such a young viral husband, yet Jules’ constant need to make love unnerved her.
She tried to fight off the pleasure as he licked her nipples. Upon each of Jules’ thrusts, Queensley wrestled with emotions of satisfaction and disgust. Her skin crawled, feeling his hands pawing all over her. She hated how he dug his fingernails into her skin while reaching his climax. Though Queensley felt the urge to scream, “Get the fuck off me,” she decided to bite her lip and let out a slight moan here or there.
“Do you love me?” Asked her eager husband, still plowing inside her.
Queensley turned her head and stared at the wall. She always wanted to paint this room a pale yellow because its present grey color clashed with the new furniture, she pondered buying. She eyed a great California king bed in one of the high-end furniture stores on Peachtree.
“Do you love me?” He asked again.
Queensley twisted her head back to face her husband staring down at her. Should she lie and say it, or should she let out a loud overexcited orgasm to throw him off? She let out a long wail.

Queensley hated children’s birthday parties, especially since they brought memories of her own pathetic cheap parties. The ones given by rich people stirred up even more hatred in her, watching them gush over gaudy gifts received by their fellow wealthy guests hoping to impress spoiled children’s wealthy parents. The whole fiasco made her queasy; it all seemed so hypocritical to accept expensive presents she could afford to buy herself. But Jules implored her to let her mother-in-law throw Phillipe’s second birthday party. He told her it hurt Dauphine’s feelings when Queensley insisted on making their son’s first birthday an intimate affair with only her and Jules. He complained that Dauphine felt robbed of not sharing her grandchild’s first birthday. He hoped it would make the two grow closer by letting her plan this one.
Not a chance in hell, she said over and over to herself. The last thing she wanted in this world was to let that viper Dauphine Bouvier Dumas get close to her or her child. Besides, the woman treated Phillippe like a dirty spot on her silk beige sheets they wished they could wash away while she fawned over Therese’s child. Dauphine never failed to mention how Therese’s baby was literally a golden child with his nearly billion-dollar trust fund and family name of Sutherlin. Her child held the misfortune of being born to a nameless nobody in northwest Atlanta.
All wasn’t lost. The day had one silver lining. At least she got to see Lance. He avoided her for the past two years by keeping a respectable distance. Even at family gatherings, he would say only a simple greeting to her, and he refused to be alone with her. Queensley realized the implausibility of the situation. They were both married to other people; after all, they both chose to become legally bonded to a pair of brother and sister. It all seemed to be a diabolical twist of fate. She got to see the man she loved and longed for every day of her life, but she couldn’t have him.
Now she laid here, conjugally joined to a man she had grown to despise. It scared Queensley how in two short years, she went from enjoying sex with him to getting her mind off Lance and wishing never to have sex with her husband again. The gentle and meek-spirited man she met three years ago turned into a neurotic, overbearing pest. Her son was the only thing of any worth produced in this short marriage. Though Queensley knew using a child as a vehicle to save a marriage proved to be a historical disaster, she tried to resolve herself to work it out for Phillippe. For him, she decided to continue living up to her vows as a dutiful wife by offering her body to her husband. But lately, she found herself unwilling. Her heart had left the marriage long ago, and recently, her body decided to follow.
