I squint my eyes at her with a sour face and shake my head slightly. “I will………..one day, I just don’t know what I would say to him”
I was like the worst person to talk to guys I tried at high school, I had a major crush on Benny Holme he had blond wavy hair and nice brown eyes, I walked up to him to say hi and nothing came out, I remember the way his eyes stared at me all dazed trying to figure out if I was a mute of something but the only thing I could get out was squeaks and whistles. Everyone laughed and I never tried to talk to boys again
“Well you could start with Hi I’m Stephanie and I have been stalking you from my work window everyday for the last 6 months, would you like to have a drink some day?” Taliahs mouth started to break into a smile and then broke in to a full on laugh. I watch as she laughs so much a tear runs down her face. “I don’t think it is funny Taliah, I can’t help that I don’t know how to talk to guys and I really like him, I don’t want to look like a moron.” I look down at my hands as I entwine my fingers together feeling like an idiot knowing that I will never have the guts to talk to him ever.
“Look at me Steph” I take a moment from my fingers to look up at her, She had her blond hair up today in a ponytail, her curls just slightly starting to slid out and hang by her ears and her green eyes where more of a brownie green then yesterdays color.
“You need to talk to him if you ever want to meet him……….I know it can be hard but wouldn’t you rather try and talk to him then never talk? What if he did like you? You will never know if you don’t try” I swing my head around and take one last glance out the window, then I look back to Taliah again. She was right I needed to talk to him but how? And when?
“Even if I wanted to talk to him where would I? I don’t know anything about him, only that every day he goes in to that club across the road at 12:00 PM.”
Taliah looks at me with a puzzled look “Well let’s put the pieces together, he goes to that club every day at the same time and he is usually dressed quite descent so I would say he probably works there or works not far away and goes there to have a drink or something like that.”
I ponder over what Taliah said and realize she was probably right, he would not travel a long way to go there every day and he may even work there It all seemed very plausible.
