About the author:
I'm an Australian Air Force wife and mother of two. I write stories of dance, romance and military life including Don’t Mean a Thing, Catching Onix, Wife, Mother, Woman, and Best Friends for Now.
When I'm not devouring books, reviewing and blogging on HeySaidRenee, or writing my own stories, I can be found swing dancing. Or possibly napping.
What inspired you to write your book?
Don't Mean a Thing was my first novel. I was inspired to write it because is been searching for books about swing dancing, books about Australian military life and books about life in Darwin but couldn't find any. I love reading chick lit and romantic comedy and I felt that style of writing would suit my natural voice, so I have it a go. And now I'm hooked.
Here is a short sample from the book:
Show me your shoes,” Matt said suddenly, snapping me out of my daydream.
I lifted my feet out in front and wiggled them around.
“Take them off for a minute and pass them here,” he said.
“No way! I don’t want you to smell my stinky shoes.”
“Well, leave them on then and put your foot up here.” Matt patted his lap.
“Umm…” I hesitated, looking at him sideways.
“Don’t look at me like that. I just want to fix your shoes”
“They’re not broken.” Foot fetish?
“Just put your feet up here.”
I tentatively placed one foot up on the seat between us. Matt reached down into his sports bag and pulled out a roll of gaffer tape and a Stanley knife.
“Hell no.” I slammed my foot back to the ground.
