Chapter 7
As she fell asleep, she felt her hand move. She slowly opened her eyes and lifted her head, it took her a second to remember where she was, and when she did, she looked at Alexz. I could’ve sworn I’ve felt a hand movement in my hand, she thought, as she looked at her phone.
“Oh shoot!!! I’ve slept and it’s late,” she said out loud.
“Uh—Quiet”
“What—Oh Alexz you’re awake, oh thanks heaven, you scared me.”
“Uh—Water, I need water.”
“Ok hold on” she said, while she poured a cup of water and gave it to Alexz.
Alexz drank the water while Maddy called for Dr. Matthew.
“Well Alexz, I see that you’re well but I want you to stay here for a couple of days, for other tests. I’ll contact your parents and tell them, you’re awake and if you want anything you need then asked Maddy to page me,” Dr. Matthew said, as he walked out the room after he rechecked Alexz.
“So Alexz, did you see a hot girl at the bottom of the stairs” she joked.
“What no, please don’t joke around with my love life.”
“Ok, ok. — Wow someone woke up on the wrong side.”
“Look who’s talking, a girl who’s younger than me and who’s only probably here to nurse me” he spat.
“What are you talking about?—Do you know who I am or my name?”
“Ya, Maddy.”
“Oh good.”
“I only know because Dr. Matt just said it and I already told you.”
“Alexz, are you alright?—you don’t know me do you?” she asked, as a tear drop came down.
“I told you already. Gosh are you deaf?”
“Sorry, I’ll be bac-” she cried, as she ran to the washroom.
She cried for a while, after she was done she washed her face and made sure she didn’t look like she had cried. As she slowly walked back to Alexz’s room, she heard her named being called out, she turn and saw Sobe, Lena, And Dr. Matthew.
“We glad that you’ll still here, we just heard from Alexz, I’m so sorry” said Lena.
“Oh you heard”
“Ya, we were looking for you, he said you went out” explained Sobe.
“Is he going to be like this?” she asked, while teardrops came down.
“We’re going to do some testing but yes, he might be like this” answered Dr. Matthew.
“Oh, but why is it only me?”
Lena hugged her and let her cried it out; she tried any way to comfort her. What Maddy felt was the same way she felt when Alexz broke up with her, she thought she would never feel this pain again and it devoured her. She forced herself to act like an adult after five minutes of water works. She told Lena she wanted to go back to Alexz, try to remind him who she was to him but nothing worked. By the time Maddy was frustrated it was late and promise to go to school tomorrow, so Sobe dropped her home.
“Maddy we’re really sorry, we know how much it hurt to be forgotten by the one you love,” he apologised on the drive home.
“I know, it’s not your fault—but I promise to be on Alexz’s side no matter what happen and I’m going to keep my word on that” she promised.
“Oh Maddy, you don’t have to do that.”
“But I want too.”
“Well that is up to you to decide, is that really ok for you?”
“Yup, of course.”
“Ok kiddow.”
“Ok.”
When they got to their destination, Maddy said her goodbyes and went inside. Sobe waited until Maddy was inside safe and sound, then he drove off. Every day she would go to school then visit Alexz after school and stay with him, but still nothing happen, no miracle yet. Then one day in the week he remembered something.
“Hey mom, Madison I remember something.”
“Really, really you do, that’s great,” they both said.
“Yup.”
“So what is it that you remember?” his mom asked.
“Well—When Madison kept coming in with her uniform, I knew it look familiar and then she brought out her text book, it just click in my head—Anyways I remember that I’m a Science teacher and you are my student.”
“Oh—that’s it—well that’s good, you’re improving and that’s what important right now” Maddy commented.
“Ok, but the thing that bugs me is why are you being so personal with me. You’re one of my student and nothing else.”
“Alexz Andrew Kira, please watch what you said to others” hissed his mother.
“What”
“It’s ok Lena—could I have a moment alone with Alexz?”
“Oh Maddy, honey— are you sure—ok, I’ll be back, I’m going to the dollars store” Lena said, as she grabbed her bag and left.
Maddy walked to close the door behind Lena and walked back to Alexz’s Bed, before she said, “So you really don’t remember me, I wish I could tell you—but the doctor said not to force it on you.”
“Why do I feel like you’re in love with me and that’s why you’re doing this.”
“I am, I ‘m in love with you and that’s why I doing this, I care for you.”
“What—I’m flattered but I’m sorry, I don’t feel the same way about you and I despise teacher and student relationship” he hissed.
“What?” she asked with a confused look.
“You heard me I hate teacher-student relationship and I’m sorry but I just think of you as a student.”
“Are you—never mind, you’re just tired, that’s all.”
“No, I’m not” he said as he got out of bed.
“Yes, you are
“No, I can tell it’s my body and I can feel it, and I know I’m not,” he said with an annoyed tone.
“Ok, you’re not tired—where are you going?”
“The washroom, why, do you have to know where I go? You are not my mother.”
“Ok, geez you don’t have to bit my head off, I was just asking.”
Wow, Alexz attitude change a lot, he was so caring, kind heart person but now he’s a cold hearted, she thought as she started to hear rain droplets banged on the window and while she picked up her bag.
“What is this?” Alexz asked, as he came out of the washroom.
“What is what?” she replied and turned to face him.
He stood there with a sakura pink envelope on his hand.
“Oh nothing—it’s just—passes it to me.”
“Oh really, it’s really nothing, then you won’t mind me reading it.”
“Yes, I do mind you reading, now pass it back,” She command.
“Is it a love letter for me?” he asked, while he opened it and read the letter.
“No Stop” she said, as she tried to stop him.
“Dear Mr. Zero, I would like to invite you to our wedding. Maddy Clane and Alexz –Kir—a” he read out loud. “What is this? It’s not love letter, it’s an invitation to our—wedding”
“No shit Sherlock –sorry, umm—yes.”
“No, this can’t be, this must be a joke, right?”
“Umm no, both our parents arrange it”
“No, no, I can’t. I can’t marry a student especially mine—I’ll talk to my parent and break it off”
“Wait what you are talking about. You can’t, we’ve been planning this for months, and what about me? About my feelings? You just can’t.”
“Yes I can. You’ll survive; there are other boys who are perfect for you, just not me. I’m sorry but I can’t marry you. I’m breaking it off.”
“No you can’t—you’re my perfect prince, not anyone else” she cried, as tears streamed down her face non-stop.
“No I’m not” he insisted, as he ripped the invitation in two.
“I I—I’ll let you think about some more, maybe you’ll remember about us. I’m leaving now and come back tomorrow” she said and opened the door. “Goodbye.”
“I won’t” he screamed back.
Before anyone could see her cry she ran to the washroom, when she was inside she made sure the door was locked, and then she leaned on the door for support because he legs felt like jello. But that didn’t help; she collapsed onto the floor and started to cry hard. What she felt now was worst thing she felt before, more worst when they broke up, she felt betrayed. She knew that it wasn’t his fault, but she couldn’t help it, to feel this way. She didn’t know how long she was in the washroom but she knew she had to face it. She remembered she had forgotten her bag in his room, so she went there even though she didn’t want too. She washed her face and left the bathroom, when she got there she opened the door and was shocked to see the young nurse on his bed, making out with him. At first it didn’t registered in her head on what had happen, until she felt water droplets dropped onto her hand.
“Alexz” she screamed.
They stopped and Alexz looked at her, there was a long silence between the three of them.
“Oh, well your check up is done—I’ll let you two talk” the young nurse said, as she fixed herself and left.
There was another awkward silence between them.
“I thought you left” he said.
“No, I haven’t. But that doesn’t mean you could make out with another girl.”
“Yes it does because I have a right too, remember we aren’t together no more.”
“You suck, you jerk” hissed Maddy, as she threw the ring he gave her as a gift at him.
She grabbed her bag and left, she ran as far as she could in the rain to their favourite place. She didn’t know what to do but sit in the rain and cry, she cried until it was dark and the rain had stopped. Her phone rang until she was in front of her house, she walked inside all soaked and wet, and she saw her mom’s mouth move but heard no sound at all. Maddy felt like a zombie, that she wasn’t there in her body but watched as her life pass by her like a movie.

Her mom helped her out of the wet clothes and placed her in a hot bath, then to bed. She heard what had happen to both Alexz and Maddy from Lena. Everyone was worried about her, her mom called her a couple of times, others tried to called her to but she wouldn’t answer which made her worried, and she was about to call the police when daughter walked in soaked head to toe.
“Hi Lena”
“Hey Chryessa, is she home? Is she ok?”
“Ya, she’s home safe—”
“Ok—wait, it sound like there’s more”
“Humm—yes—she having a mental break down, she came in all soaked from head to toe and she really looks like a zombie, I’m worried and scared for her, Lena.”
“Oh it’s all my fault; I shouldn’t have left them alone together.”
“No, don’t blame yourself; you didn’t know that it was going to happen like that.”
They talked a little bit longer and said their goodnight. She checked on Maddy before she went to bed.

Two days had passed and Maddy had stayed locked up in her room with food she didn’t eat, on the third day Bellene and Ikuto had enough of this.
“Maddy, if you don’t let us in, we’ll break down the door” Bellene called.
“Leave me alone”
“No we won’t, so why don’t you open this door now” called Ikuto.
The heard nothing so Ikuto pretend to break the door, he bang it and counted, “One—two—two and half—”
But before he could count to three, Maddy opened her door and went back to her bed.
“Maddy, please stop this—I know that it’s painful and you’re hurting a lot but you have to go on with life.”
“But I can’t”
“Yes you can, you have too. Look at yourself, you aren’t eating, you are killing yourself slowly and we’re worried about you, everyone is worry.”
“I —”
“Maddy please, we are begging you!!”
Bellene and Ikuto continued to persuaded Maddy to go to school and live again, they joked around and they did everything in their power that a best friend would do, in the end they convinced Maddy to live her life again. All three of them came out of Maddy’s room and ate dinner together with her mom. The next morning Bellene and Ikuto went picked her up.
