What inspired you to write your book?
I have a small business on the side and got involved with a friend of mine who was supposedly a marketing genius. Things went awry quite quickly and the insanity that ensued was mind-boggling. After the fiasco, I took time off to self-reflect and decided to relax and follow my impulses. I've always wanted to write and had more free time to read more so I started getting into the romance genre. I decided to take advantage of the break and just do it. So I did!
Elements of the book are inspired by real people and events, but inspiration mostly came from the romance books I was reading myself.
Here is a short sample from the book:
Suddenly, I was reminded of the version of me three years ago that had been tangled in the sheets with him. He felt the same under my hands, warm and steady. The smell of his cologne was like a memory that had been stored away for lonely nights and moments when my guard had been let down. He was everywhere, covering me in his all consuming presence. Smith was, and always had been, a taboo. He was the quick flicker of consciousness right before I fell into a deep sleep, and he was the man who starred in my dreams. In those dreams he was everything I had ever wanted in a man and I always woke up disappointed and bereft. He slipped through my fingers like smoke and now he was here in my hands again, real and whole.
