About the author:
She lives in a city large enough to have both real dinosaur bones in its museum and a pretty decent football team. Therefore, she is quite pleased with where life has landed her.
What inspired you to write your book?
Note, I only write consensual non-consent in my books.
Here is a short sample from the book:
“Modern technology is great,” Joy said, looking down at her phone. “We’re half a mile from the road, miles from another living soul, and I still have three bars on my cell and a fully charged battery.”
“It’s always nice to know we can call for help,” Paul replied, as Joy put her phone back in her pocket, “but I don’t think we’re going to need it. You seem to have packed everything we could possibly need, even if we were stuck here for months.” Paul looked up from the stake he was hammering in the ground, “You know we’re heading back tomorrow, right?”
“I know,” she said, “but I like being prepared. You never know what’s going to happen.”
He smiled and said, “No, you never do,” and then he walked over to one of the backpacks they’d brought along.
She watched him move. They’d been dating several months now, and while she knew it was shallow of her, she still spent a lot of time just looking at him. He was the sexiest guy she’d ever dated. He was also the best listener. Despite their short relationship she’d already confided so much to him. He knew a lot of her secrets… including fantasies that she’d never admitted to having to anyone else. She tried to keep things in perspective, but like she told her friends, so far he seemed to seriously be the best boyfriend ever.
An hour later they congratulated themselves on getting their tent set up in record time. Even though it was just the two of them, they had a tent big enough for eight people to sleep comfortably. Although, as Paul liked to joke, that was only if three of the people could sleep standing up and the other five slept in shifts.
Stepping back outside, Joy decided to walk around a little while Paul set up the “kitchen”. He was particular about the way the pots were laid out and she’d learned that when she tried to help, she invariably just got in his way. She found a stream close by and amused herself by overturning rocks and looking, unsuccessfully, for crawdads.
When she got back Paul had everything laid out just so. He was also tying some rope to a tree that had fallen over. “What’s that for?” she asked.
“This?” He held up the bright white rope and studied it for a moment. Setting it back down, he answered, “This is for when I tie you over this log and fuck you until I’m done with you.”
She looked at him. He was staring at her intently. “Babe,” he said in a tone she’d never heard from him before, “if you’re thinking of running, you should probably start now.”
She ran. She heard his footfalls behind her in a slow, steady rhythm. She tried to go in a straight line, but there were no paths, and the trees and fallen branches blocked her way. She darted left, and then right – fully aware she was getting herself lost. When she thought she’d put some distance between herself and her pursuer, she hid behind a tree and tried to catch her breath. She really needed to get in better shape. As she tried to think of a plan, she noticed that something seemed off with her pants.
“Oh, yeah,” he yelled from a closer distance than she would have expected, “I have your phone. I don’t want it to get damaged when I subdue you.” His voice got louder as he closed the distance, “By the way, that tree isn’t hiding you as well as you think it is.”
She sprinted off again. After a few minutes she came across the creek from earlier. Even worse, she could see the overturned rocks. Apparently, she’d done the embarrassingly girly thing where…
“Aww, you ran like half a mile and managed to get about 300 feet from our camp site,” he taunted. He was so close! At least I have a landmark, she thought. She took off again staying parallel with the water. She didn’t make it far before her toe got caught on an obscured root and sent her flailing to the ground.
