What inspired you to write your book?
I began writing YA urban fantasy under a different name. As much as I enjoyed writing in the genre, it wasn't what I loved. I read and loved paranormal romance.
Eventually, I decided to create a penname and write everything I loved to read. I love being taken to extraordinary worlds where the unnatural beings of the world stalk the streets and steal the hearts of powerful, stubborn women.
So, I decided to create a new world, welcoming my readers into it. This world gave those readers sexy, angsty romance with a happily ever after at every corner.
Here is a short sample from the book:
“Let me go and I’ll pretend this never happened," Kelly told her captor.
Was he attractive? Absolutely. But that didn't matter. She still needed to escape him as soon as possible.
He was hurting. Obviously. She could see that he didn’t want to abduct her. He was regretting it. At least, that’s what she hoped his longing stare told her.
She held in a breath as she waited for his response.
He reached a gentle hand to her leg, resting it on her thigh as if he was trying to comfort her, which was wishful thinking on his part. The odds of comforting her were slim to none.
Still, she didn’t stop him. She believed she was about to convince him to release her. She refused to do anything that would stop him from considering doing so.
“I can’t do that,” he said in a strained voice, his eyes filled with sadness. “I can’t ever do that.”
And with that, the flicker of hope she felt vanished. There was no using in hoping she'd get away. Her life was going to be cut short and there was nothing she could do about it.
