Here is a short sample from the book:
“Thomas, party of two,” called out the host from the host stand.
“That’s us,” said Thomas as he stood to be noticed by the host.
Thomas turned to Kim, who was still sitting, and took her hand. Thomas yanked Kim up from bench in the waiting area of the restaurant.
Thomas had been asking Kim out for months. She had always been nice and tried to let him down gently by telling him that she was busy or she already had plans. Thomas was more persistent than Kim had hoped he would be. Normally, Kim would tell other guys who asked her out the same things and then they would give up after a try or two, but not Thomas.
As Kim followed Thomas and the host to their seats she realized that she had never really seen Thomas from the back before. It wasn’t much of view. Thomas had no ass at all. If Kim were being honest with herself she knew that she only agreed to go on this date with Thomas for two reasons, 1) so he would stop asking her out and 2) a free meal.
Thomas had no features that Kim found appealing or attractive in a man. He was too tall and she preferred shorter guys, guys around her height. He had blonde hair and she preferred men with dark hair. He was very skinny and she preferred a man with some meat on his bones. Aside from Thomas’s physical traits, Kim didn’t like the way he treated people. He was always short and abrupt when he spoke, not hinting at a trace of respect in his tone. Thomas was one of those guys who spoke at people rather than speaking with them.
The host walked Thomas and Kim to a table in the middle of the middle section of the restaurant.
“Here is your table,” said the host. “You’re waitress will be with you–”
“No,” interrupted Thomas. “We asked for a booth. We want a booth.”
“Well, sir,” said the host. “This is the on—”
“Look,” interrupted Thomas, again, pointing to a booth. “There’s an empty booth right there. Just give us that booth.
The host sighed and picked the menus up from the table and shoved them under his arm.
“Please, if you will follow me,” said the host in a frustrated tone.
Thomas smiled as he looked at Kim. Kim politely smiled back. All Kim could think was how big of dick he had just been to the poor guy.
