About the author:
Hi, my name is Natalie Haigh I am 40 years old. I live in a small flat in Essex with my 2 cats sparkle and twinkle. I spend most of my time writing, with my head in a good book, or spending time with my parents Mary and Howard, and on skype with my big sister Laura, my Niece Rebecca and my brother-in-law Dean. I can never thank my family enough for their support and encouragement.
My favorite Author and the inspiration to me trying my hand at writing has to be Author Stephanie Hudson the Author of 'The Afterlife saga'. I highly recommend her books all of them are incredible. Her books got me through so much and provided the perfect escape, especially being in quarantine alone, I read and re-read them continuously. The more I read the more I wanted to write myself and so I decided to just do it.
What started off first as a fifty shades fanfic alternative soon became a passion and a dream. After receiving so much support and encouragement from those who read my story on fanfic, and after months of being scared I finally decided to publish the book. I can only hope that people enjoy reading the book as much as I enjoyed writing it. I have many more books to come in this series. I also have a new series that I have started the outline for that is quite different from the 'Sins and Secrets' series. I hope you enjoy reading my books as I enjoyed writing them.
What inspired you to write your book?
I have always been an avid reader, ever since I was a small child, and during lockdown, I had tried so many different things to occupy me and help me with my depression being stuck in the house alone caused. I decided one day to sign up for a 3-day creative writing course. Then after building up characters and their profiles, I decided to write a fifty shades of grey fanfiction with a supernatural twist. It did really well and so I decided to send the book to one of my favorite authors and she offered to publish it and I said yes.
Here is a short sample from the book:
Chapter two
Luke
The blonde beauty on the dance floor had captured Luke’s gaze, he couldn’t tear his eyes away from her. For weeks he had done everything he could to find out everything about her, trying to find a way to meet her— short of going to her apartment and snatching her away. Which if tonight didn’t go well, was still a very real option.
It had taken all of his control not to kill every man that had hugged her, he didn’t care that they were her family; he hated their hands being on her. Watching her from afar had been torturous. Sure he could have set up chance meetings over the time he had been watching her but it never felt like the right time for him to introduce himself. When she was home she always looked so exhausted and he wanted her bright, and alert when she met him.
Luke had been forced to make ‘friends’ with her father so that he could find a way to meet Olivia in a social setting, where she wouldn’t be in such a hurry to leave. From what Luke had seen of Olivia the past few weeks the only time she wasn’t rushing of somewhere was when she was with her family, so this party invite was a lucky break, one that came a lot easier than he had thought it would. Luke had thought that it would have taken his unique powers of persuasion to get an invite but apparently Dione had insisted William invite him for some reason, even though he and Dione had only met a few times, not that Luke was complaining.
The first day he had seen Olivia it was her relaxed, easy, laughter, and beautiful smile that hooked him in, and he had craved that sight ever since. Tonight he wanted his fix before he introduced himself, knowing that his presence usually intimidated most people, especially women, so it was likely that she wouldn’t be as relaxed as she was right now once they met.
Luke’s teeth clenched and his hands fisted as he watched William speak to the woman in his arms. He was fighting the urge to rip her father’s hands off her.
She was his. She may not know it yet, but she was his whether she liked it or not. Luke wasn’t giving her the choice. So seeing her in another man’s arms, father or not, was something he hated.
Satisfaction thrummed through his body when her eyes landed on him and she tripped, clearly flushed by his presence. And just as Luke predicted, the stunning smile he had become addicted to dropped, replaced by a look he knew well. He had seen it often throughout his existence, and had suffered the same look on the faces of the women around the room tonight. But seeing it on her was like a balm to his soul. It had his cock standing to attention at the thought of making her face flush as he buried himself inside her delectable body.
After a few more minutes of watching her, Luke decided he had waited long enough. Pushing himself off the wall he walked toward the woman he had obsessed over for what felt like an eternity.
