About the author:
Author Ronnie Massey is a mother of two, and grandmother of one. She's a card-carrying member of the rainbow mafia and has lived in South Carolina her entire life.
She is a total nerd that can talk to you for hours about her favorite things, which include but are not limited to: comics, vampires, mythology, movies, and comic tv shows, so tread carefully. Once you get her started, you are in for the long haul. She is a collector of many things and cries during movies and tv shows. She is of the opinion that Klaus deserved a much better ending than the one he received.
Her love of reading began as a child. That love of reading eventually morphed into a love of writing. She has been writing short stories, poetry, and songs, since high school.
What inspired you to write your book?
As an avid reader of fantasy and science fiction, my biggest motivation for Ascension was to see characters that looked like and shared similar qualities as myself, in genres that I love.
Here is a short sample from the book:
“So, what are you doing for the full moon tomorrow? You haven’t called me, so I wasn’t sure if I should drive down or not.”
Dee lives in Virginia now. Four months after we broke up, she stormed into the studio during the middle of a show declaring that she needed a change of scenery. I told her that was probably for the best, so Dee moved back to her father’s pack. Part of me wishes I’d begged her to stay that day, but I couldn’t be the girlfriend that she deserved.
Dee grew up in a pack and was entirely out. Once we got together, she couldn’t handle hiding that she was a were. She tried for over three years to live in the shadows with me. But Dee is like the sun. There is no shadow that can contain her. In hindsight, it was selfish of me to ask, but I loved her. I had to try. Hell, I was still in love with her and felt as if a part of me always would be. But I’d never admit it to her. That was six months ago, and she was still there for me whenever I needed a hunting partner for the full moon.
