About the author:
When I’m not at little league games, dance classes or creating, I’m in a sacred place meditating on my next venture. I’ve been writing short stories since adolescence; but as an adult I’m experiencing them. I live vicariously through my characters; I hope readers will also.
What inspired you to write your book?
I’m a foster/adoptive mother and an advocate. I have worked with displaced children who were forced into Human Sex Trafficking. There are ongoing debates on the world’s oldest profession (Prostitution) and, I wanted to create something that is entertaining, as well as thought provoking, but from a different perspective. The United States’s sex trafficking laws are outdated. The time is quickly approaching for a decision to normalize and regulate practices, or to continue to protect what some believe is a violation of human rights.
Here is a short sample from the book:
One of our rules prohibits meeting new clients at their private residences. Visiting their homes on a first date devalues the experience. “Booty Calls” are a dime per dozen. We’re commissioned for thousands. We’re required to maintain a certain level of class, anonymity, and exclusivity. Typically, we’ll chat with prospective clients to get acquainted, followed by a face to face consultation. Thereafter, 70% of our fee is required in advance. This client in particular, is a well known celebrity. Lorraine made an exception, due to his status. He’s preparing for a world tour, he has a song on the top 10 charts, and he’s also the co-host of a nationally syndicated TV show. His reputation is worth much more than the $60,000 she’s set to make.
