Jeremy and I had fallen for each other while I was in my second year of college and he’s in his third. It was one of those chance meetings that you felt in your bones was fate. We’d just clicked. I remember it like it was yesterday.
Roxie and I were walking across campus to this really great sushi bar and when we walked through the door I saw him, sitting at a table with two other people, a guy and a girl. He looked up as I stepped inside with Roxie on my heels and our gazes locked. A small smile crossed his face and I froze on the threshold. Roxie bumped into me, because I’d stopped so suddenly, effectively breaking the trance I was in. I glanced at her quickly and apologized, looking quickly back at him before scanning the bar to find an empty table.
