What inspired you to write your book?
I have been writing Scottish Historic Romance/Adventure books for a while, this being my 7th book. I was inspired by those books I have read, a love of the past, of my own Scottish heritage, and a desire to share what is in my heart with others.
Here is a short sample from the book:
Keith touched her chin with his fingertips and guided her face back toward him. When he saw that she was crying he used the pads of his thumbs to brush the tears away and then kissed her eyes. “I ken, love. Ye are to be with the church. ‘Tis me fault. I shouldnae have kissed ye.”
Sheena tried to look away again, but was only successful in lowering her eyes. “ ‘Tis me own fault as well, M’ Lord. I liked it.” She said, smiling a little through her tears.
“I liked it as well. I liked it so verra much that I would like to do it again.” Keith said as he pulled her close. He wrapped his strong arms around Sheena and she wept into his shoulder, very confused. She truly liked this man and now she did not know if she should continue her trip to St. Christus. What if Lord McCormick was only playing? What if he was trying to seduce her? What if he did not truly care?
Sheena and Keith sat on the floor near the fireplace for a long while. She stayed in his embrace. He was stroking her hair with his hand, holding onto her with his other arm, and whispering soothing things into her hair.
The door opened without warning, and the two jumped and looked toward the door. Everild was standing there in the doorway. The expression on her face was one of complete evil and hate. She stormed into the room and grabbed Sheena by the arm. “Ye ken ye are to go to the church! Why are ye here, in this chamber by yerself with this mon? Think of yer reputation. Think of the clan reputation. Think of ME reputation! Ye dishonor us all.” She spat.
