  • Heart Wreck: A Stranger Vacation Contemporary Romance by Melinda Hazen

Two damaged hearts. One tropical vacation. That’s where our story starts…

Four years ago, a single tragic event left me at rock bottom, and my life has sucked ever since. So, when a guy I’ve been getting to know through social media suggested we meet in Hawaii for our “official” first date, I agreed to go. My life has been mundane overall, so I had nothing to lose. A romantic adventure with breathtaking views and an ocean breeze as the backdrop created the potential for us to fall in love. Until the promise of excitement turned sour…

Shortly after my arrival in Hawaii, I learned my date was standing me up, leaving me stranded in Lanai for the week. As an apology, he left his credit card on file along with the prepaid room and told me to enjoy the luxurious resort on him. While being a generous offer, it still meant I’d experience paradise… alone. Or would I?

Somehow, I’ve met someone interesting, and my outlook has quickly changed… Cillian is handsome and mysterious and is also a guest at the resort. Conveniently, we’re both on our own for the week. I’m drawn to him by the precise, thought-provoking questions he asks. Not only are those impressive, but Cillian also listens intently and is determined to learn details about my life. He appears almost too good to be true. While I’m confessing awful secrets—ones I’ve purposely left buried in the past—Cillian’s attempting to heal my wounds. But at the same time, I sense something is keeping him stuck in his past and giving him reservations about me.

I have six days to figure what’s happening between us. So, let the Hawaiian trip begin…
