Lady Chase Fairfax is a budding young feminist who flees England when her father arranges a betrothal to a repugnant man. She sails to America under the guise of a young man and becomes captivated by an appealing Texan who has fairly chauvinistic philosophies of the relationships between men and women. To prove him wrong, she vows to make him fall in love with her…and she is devastated to realize that she has fallen a little in love with him, as well.
