What inspires you to write romance books?
Ever since I was twelve and I snuck Katherine Woodwiss out of the library, I knew I wanted to be a romance writer. From the HEA to the heart stopping action between two people, I wanted to write a story that made others feel like love MUST conquer all despite everything they go through
Tell us about how you write:
I love to sit in bed with my laptop and write, with chocolate and a lot of noise; meaning I need the television on and music playing on my phone and sometimes even a video on Youtube playing to actually concentrate to write. Chaos is my peace.
Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen to them. I find that my unique characters have a lot of interesting things to say about themselves and to each other. I love their dialogue and I could listen to them talk all day.
What advice would you give other writers?
Don't stop; even when it feels like you aren't selling. Keep promoting, writing and marketing.
How did you decide how to publish your books?
Since I'm a control freak, indepedent publishing was right up my alley. Since 2000, I've been publishing my own books and love everything about the process, especially the income. With over 40 books published, there is more to come!
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
The future is always scary but I'm ready for the ride. I love to try new things, but I'm nota bandwagon type of person. If I like it and I can master it without drawing away from what I'm currently doing, then I know I've got something and my readers will enjoy it.
