S. Valentine grew up in England. Studying English language and literature, as well as law, she worked in a solicitors for many years before moving to Spain. She does however still visit the UK, which in a way, will always be home.
Returning to her lifelong passion of writing books, she’s also a weekly columnist for The Ibizan newspaper on: lifestyle and fashion. Her other interests include reading, shopping and a nice glass of wine to shows such as Sons Of Anarchy, Dexter, Gossip Girl and SATC. What inspires you to write romance books?
I love everything about romance, movies, books, romance in relationships. The world can be a very tough place, and all we need is love!
Tell us about how you write:
I start off with having a big cup of coffee, and some biscuits. I then do some blogging, catch up on emails and social media, and then I write. Some days, I get a lot out, some days, barely anything. But as they say, you can’t edit a blank page, so all helps!
Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
I listen to them yes. Usually when I’m lying in bed, a scene will come to me, which I have to jot down. Notepads are very handy in the writing world!!
What advice would you give other writers?
Never give up on your passion! Write, write, write. Research about self and traditional publishing. Get your manuscript the best it can possibly be!
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I went the traditional route. It’s very hard. From writing the synopsis, covering letters, researching agents / publishers etc. I was offered a place with three publishers. After a lot of rejections, mind, but we all have them! Never give up!
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I hope there will be more places to read. Book bars, book cafe’s etc. Books play a huge part in entertainment. It would be nice to meet new and other readers.
What genres do you write:: erotic romance, contemporary, crime / drama.
What formats are your books in: Both eBook and Print
