Author Shannyn Leah Shares Their Story
Shannyn Leah lives in London Ontario, Canada. She come from an entrepreneurial family, who all have a passion for developing new and exciting business ideas. In between their many business ventures, she find herself writing best into the early hours of the morning. She have been writing since she was young, and with the encouragement of her momma, she published her first books this year.
When Shannyn’s not writing or reading romance novels, you can find her antiquing with her two favorite people, her momma and her sister. They love finding a good bargain! Even her three year old nephew loves bargain hunting too, although his taste usually lands on a superhero collectible…and let me tell you those are not always a bargain!
Shannyn has published five books in her series, By the Lake, (The McAdams Sisters) including, Lakeshore Secrets, Lakeshore Legend, Lakeshore Love, Lakeshore Candy and Lakeshore Lyrics. She is currently working on a new series for 2016.

What inspires you to write romance books?
I love happily ever afters and all the drama in in between! Because, let’s face it, happily ever afters aren’t perfect, but there is always romance.
Tell us about how you write:
I outline my story on the second draft. The first draft is unplanned and impulsive while I discover the characters and the story line.
Do you listen (or talk to) to your characters?
My characters set the path of their story. I can go in writing one idea and when I’m finished the characters have taken me in a completely different direction…and always for the best!
What advice would you give other writers?
Keep writing and reading!
How did you decide how to publish your books?
I’ve been writing books since I was young, but have never sent my work away to publishers. My momma asked me to finish one of my books. When I presented her with the finished product, we published it online. I have been self-publishing since.
What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I believe independent publishing will continue to increase.
