Author Interview: Tori L. Wilson

About the author:
Tori Wilson is a young author who began her writing career at only nineteen years old. She is now twenty two years old and has had four books published. Tori lives in a small town and is attending college, majoring in art education. In her free time, she enjoys singing, dancing, painting, modeling Japanese fashion at local anime conventions, and studying foreign languages. Tori's latest book, The Gifts of Christmas, is a cozy romance mystery, and is included in the Books To Go Now Christmas Mystery Anthology.

What inspires you to write romantic fiction?
Ellen Schreiber, Maggie Steifvater, and Stephenie Meyer. I love how these authors can make their paranormal romances so realistic, and I also love the amount of detail used in their works.

Tell us about how you write.
I like to first come up with a rough plotline and sketches of the characters, then I write down each chapter on paper before typing it up and finalizing it on the computer.

Do you listen to or talk to to your characters?
No, but I do talk to my friends and family members about how the plotline should carry out in the story.

What advice would you give other romance writers?
Write what you feel like writing instead of what you think others will like. At the end of the day, you will be happier with your decisions that way.

How did you decide how to publish your books?
I just submitted my book to as many publishers as possible, and I was lucky enough to have my current company agree to publish my book.

What do you think about the future of book publishing?
I think authors will choose to work with smaller companies, and hopefully more indie book publishers will pop up.

Which romance sub-genere(s) fit your stories best?
paranormal romance, romance mystery, romantic suspense

My books are available in the following formats:
eBook, Print
